Instagram I'm a composer, sound artist, and researcher based in Aotearoa New Zealand. My practice oscillates around a fundamental question: what and how does sound allow us to know and feel? Working in electronic music, spatial audio, and interdisciplinary collaboration, I make work that listens to the world as much as it sounds it — compositions for icosahedral and ambisonic loudspeaker arrays, generative modular synthesis, immersive and intimate installations, collaborations with filmmakers and kinetic sculptors, alongside pieces harnessing voice, instruments, electronics, text, and soundscapes. Scholarly inquiry and artistic practice are synergistic in my work, pitched to the material, ecological, and posthuman dimensions of sound and music, and the ways these resonate with space and place. I teach at Te Kōkī – New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington, and have been composer-in-residence at IEM Graz, ZKM Karlsruhe, and STEIM Amsterdam. My work is performed, exhibited, and published internationally and in Aotearoa. If the weather's good, you'll find me outside.
